MARY (GOODYEAR) MCCORMACK

ELKHART - Mary Ann McCormack, 80, of Elkhart, IN, and formerly of Edwardsburg, passed to her rest at 10 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 10, 2009, while a patient at Woodland Manor of Elkhart, after an illness. Mary Ann was born Dec. 3, 1928 in LaJunta, CO, the daughter of Oliver and Mary (Nichell-Kitchen) Goodyear.

She was married May 25, 1953 in South Bend, to C.S. "Mac McCormack, he passed Oct. 20, 1989. Surviving is a daughter, Kathryn Lemna of Elkhart with whom Mary Ann lived, and two grandchildren, Kristine and Kyle both of Elkhart. There are two siblings, Janet Thompson of Florida and Richard Kitchen of Edwardsburg.

Those who have passed are her parents; a son-in-law, Lee Lemna; and a brother, George Kitchen.

Mary Ann was a life member of Edwardsburg Conservation Club where she was the membership secretary, member of the Michigan United Conservation clubs where she was state credentials chairman. She was a member of MUCC Women's Organization.

She graduated from John Adams High School, South Bend the class of 1946, and had attended South Bend College of Commerce. She formerly worked in the office of South Bend Window Cleaning; Workiger Electric, Creation Windows and Imperial Vans, all of Elkhart. She worked in accounting.

Friends may gather at the Paul E. Mayhew Funeral Home, 26863 West Main, Edwardsburg on Saturday, Nov. 15, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. where a funeral procession will go to Edwardsburg Cemetery for the Interment.
