Barbara Frances Madison

Mrs. Barbara F. Madison, 52, of 740 Patterson, died at 1:15 p.m. Wednesday in St. Joseph’s Hospital after a two-week illness.

She was the manager of Claire’s Boutique in the Town and Country Shopping Center. She was born on Oct. 9, 1927, in South Bend, and had lived here all her life. On July 2, 1954, in South Bend, she married William H. Madison, who survives.

Also surviving is her mother, Mrs. Frances S. McFarlane of South Bend; two daughters, Beverlee J. Madison of Indianapolis and Barbara Ann Madison of South Bend; three sons, William H. II and Brian E., both of South Bend, and Bradley J. of Mishawaka; a sister, Miss Frances M. McFarlane of South Bend, and four brothers, Ronald McFarlane of Bolingbrook, Ill., James McFarlane of Irvine, Calif., Robert McFarlane of Lansing, and William of South Bend.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday in the Welsheimer Funeral Home, 521 N. William. Very Rev. Robert V. Bizzaro, dean of the Cathedral of St. James, Episcopal, will officiate. Burial will be in St. Joseph Valley Memorial Park. Friends may call from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday in the funeral home.

She was a past president of the Ladies of the Elks and a Democratic Precinct Committeeman, 4th District.
