Charlene Janice Page

Charlene Janice Garber Page joined her Maker at 9:08 p.m. on Friday, the 25th of December, to be with her beloved Ray, who she missed so very deeply. She passed away at Hospice House after a courageous battle with lung cancer.

Charlene was born to Charles and Irene (Kubiak) Garber on June 5, 1930, in South Bend, Ind. Both preceded her in death.

On April 26, 1958, she married Raymond Forest Page, who also preceded her in death on July 15, 1994. They lived in Oakmont Park, South Bend.

Left behind to carry on her memory and love are her son, Mark Allen (Cindy) Prater of South Bend; and her daughter, Lisa Marie Estes and fiance, Jack Hull, Jr., of Elkhart, Ind., Her stepchildren, James (Gail) of Wawkeska, Wis., and Jacqueline (Harry) Beach of Roscoe, Ill. Her sister, Adeline ''Addie'' Wesolowski of Mishawaka, Ind. She was blessed with 11 grandchildren, three adopted grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, and two nephews and their wives, with one great- niece and one great-nephew. She also leaves her aunts and cousins and many friends, especially Joe Wesolowski and Sandy Barnard.

Charlene attended St. Joseph's Academy and graduated from Adams High School in 1948. She was an officer of the ladies auxiliary of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 624, Roseland, Ind. She and Ray were very active in their post. We will all miss her wit and wisdom. Charlene always gave unconditional love to everyone she knew, thinking of others before herself, with plenty of hugs and kisses. She was
a homemaker and a wonderful loving mother to her children, and a devoted wife to her husband Ray. She enjoyed traveling with her sister who was her friend. They went to Miami Beach, the Mardi Gras and Las Vegas this year, and shared many happy memories. They especially liked to listen to the band ''Champion.'' She loved Notre Dame football and Cubs baseball.

The Welsheimer Funeral Home on Cleveland Road is in charge of arrangements.

Visitation will be from 3 to 8 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 8. Services will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Jan. 9, by Brother Steve Nani, C.S.C., at the funeral home. Entombment will be in the ''Old Rugged Cross'' cove in St. Joseph Valley Memorial Park Cemetery, Granger, Ind.

Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice House of St. Joseph County, Roseland.
