Jan. 10, 1931 – May 19, 1979

Miss Betty Lou Johnston, 48, of 925 S. 25th, died at 8:10 p.m. Saturday in the Healthwin Hospital after an extended illness.

She was born on Jan. 10, 1931, in South Bend. She had lived in St. Louis for the last 20 years before returning to South Bend.

Surviving are her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Johnston of South Bend, and a sister, Mrs. Charles Johnston of Denver, Ind.

Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday at the Hollis-Palmer Funeral Home, 2528 Mishawaka Ave.

Services for Mrs. Johnston will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday in the Christian Center Church with Rev. Frank Sumrall officiating. Burial will be in Zion Cemetery, Culver.

She had lived in Winston-Salem, N.C., for the past five years and returned here in December 1978.
