SOUTH BEND - Thomas Joe Patterson, 78, of South Bend, IN, passed away at 6:15 AM Tuesday, July 14, 2009, in his home. He was a tool-and-die maker for many local businesses.
He was born on November 22, 1930, in Burlington, IN, to Joe Patterson and Nina (Thomas) Patterson Walters, and remained a lifelong area resident. In 1951, in South Bend, IN, he married Jayne (Davis) Patterson. She preceded him in death on January 26, 2004.
Mr. Patterson is survived by his daughter, Jodee (James) Kuliesh of Tucson, AZ; sons, Kevin (Mimi) Patterson of South Bend and Richard (Kay) Patterson of Mishawaka; four grandchildren, Jessica (Jason) Fowler, Christopher (Amelia), Thomas and Spencer Patterson; and three sisters, Carol Schaffer and Linda McCune, both of South Bend, and Norma DiGirolamo of Mishawaka.
Mr. Patterson was a graduate of John Adams High School, South Bend.
Memorial services will be held at 4:00 PM Saturday, July 18, in Palmer Funeral Home - River Park, 2528 Mishawaka Ave., South Bend. Rev. Ed Erskin, pastor of Northway Church of Christ, will officiate. Friends may visit with the family from 2-4 PM Saturday in the funeral home.
