SOUTH BEND - Christyne Marie (Scott) Woolridge passed away peacefully in her sleep on December 25, 2011, Christmas Day, to join her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Mrs. Woolridge, better known as "Chrys" was born October 16, 1930 in Richmond, IN to Oliver J. and Marie E. Scott, both of whom preceded her in death.

She is survived by her husband, George "Jack" Woolridge of South Bend; two sons, Kevin Michael (Jodie) Woolridge of Commerce Township, MI and Eric Vincent Woolridge of South Bend; one daughter, Kelli Alyse (Tony) Johnson of Plainfield, IL; "beloved campus daughter, Vansetta Childs of Plano, TX; five grandsons, Miles Alexander and Michael Oliver Woolridge as well as Anthony Alexander, Julian Christopher and Maxwell Tyler-Walker Johnson. Chrys is also survived by three sisters, Mary L. (Albert) Hill of Pickering, OH and Maxine V. Price and Ollie M. Scott both of South Bend.

Three brothers, Oliver Jr., James and Richard Scott and a sister, Geraldine Scott Coker preceded her in death.

Several cousins, nieces, nephews and a multitude of friends will truly miss her and know that she will remain in their hearts forever. Chrys graduated from John Adams High School. She attended Indiana University of South Bend, St. Mary's of the Woods College in Terre Haute, IN and received her B.A. Degree in Business (Marketing) from Bethel College, Mishawaka, IN. Chrys and Jack were married March 17, 1957 in South Bend. While raising her children Chrys worked for several business firms including the South Bend Chamber of Commerce, WSBT station, the University of Notre Dame's LoBund Center and Law School, Hickey Construction and she retired from Key Bank (South Bend ) as a Vice-President of Marketing. More recently she was working as a permanent substitute teacher at James Madison Primary Educational Center. Christyne always created time to volunteer her gifts towards mentoring programs for young women and various church ministry activities. These included Sunday School, etiquette classes, tutorial programs for needy children as well as her relationship with the beloved sisters of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. Along with the many volunteer programs, she personally enjoyed reading, writing and was an avid seamstress. She also enjoyed traveling to many foreign countries as well as the continental United States.

As per her wishes, cremation has taken place and memorial services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, December 31st in First United Methodist Church, 333 N. Main St., South Bend with Rev. Mary Hubbard officiating. The family will receive family and friends in the social hall of the church immediately following the service. The family would like to thank everyone for their prayers, expressions of love, well wishes and respecting the family's privacy during this difficult period. The Woolridges would also like to acknowledge and thank the doctors, specialists, nurses and hospital staff who assisted Chrys and the family during their time of need.
