SOUTH BEND-Ted Shafer, 80, passed away early Saturday morning, June 16, 2012 in Memorial Hospital, South Bend, IN. Ted was co-owner of Attco Machine products since 1966. He was born on July 8, 1931 in Mishawaka, IN to Theodore D. and Hazel (Benner) Shafer who preceded him in death along with a son, Ted Shafer, III.
On September 8, 1951 in South Bend, IN he married Elizabeth Ann McDonough who survives along with two sisters, Dorothy Scheetz of Mishawaka and Roseann (Robert) Eddy of South Bend; and Elizabeth's sister, Barbara (Jim) Wynne of Coeur d'Alene, ID; brother, Richard (Mary) McDonough of Mishawaka; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Ted was a member of the south Bend Cruising Club; former member of South Bend Power Squadron; and Elks Lodge 235.
Funeral services will be held at 5:00 PM Wednesday, June 20, 2012 in Palmer Funeral Home-Hickey Chapel, 17131 Cleveland Rd, South Bend. Rev. Jeff Largent officiating. Friends may visit with the family from 3:00 PM until services Wednesday in the funeral home.
