Joyce Stegman Edgar July 4, 1929 ~ May 5, 2011 Joyce Stegman Edgar passed away on May 5, 2011. She was born on July 4, 1929 to Jay and Esther Huffman in South Bend, Indiana. Joyce and her husband, Raphael (Ray) Edgar have lived in Santa Fe for 13 years, having come from Indianapolis, Indiana, They were frequent guest singers at Vanessie's with Doug Montgomery at the piano, where they met their closest and dearest friends. When she lived in South Bend, Indiana and Indianapolis, Indiana, she was a choir director and church organist. During the time she lived in northwest Indiana she was a professional Realtor. Members of her loving family who survive are: her husband, Ray Edgar, her sister, Donna Carlson of Mishawaka, Indiana, Joyce's two daughters, Deborah Stegman of Oakland, California and Joan Freeman of Ellettsville, Indiana, two granddaughters, Haley Brown and Lauren Brown and step-grandson, Jason Freeman, his Fiance Sandy and their son ,Jonathan. Also Ray's sister Laya Frischer of Evanston, Illinois, his son, Barry Edgar of Lake Villa, Illinois and Barry's partner, Deborah Jornd and their three children, Aaron Edgar, Crystal Edgar and David Edgar, Ray's two daughters, Daphna Edgar of Boston, Massachusetts, and Orna Edgar of Redmond, Washington and her daughter, Tahlia Edgar-Chalker. A Memorial service will take place at 3 p.m. at Christ Lutheran Church, 1701 Arroyo Chamiso, Santa Fe, NM 87505 on Sunday, May 15, 2011. The Memorial Service luncheon will take place immediately following the service at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to Christ Lutheran Church or The National Breast Cancer Research Foundation or a charity of choice.
