Jean Ann Deskovich

Jean Ann (McCaffery) Deskovich, 73, of Beverly Place, South Bend, Ind., formerly of Diamond Lake, Cassopolis, Mich., died Thursday, Dec. 4, in her home.

Jean was born Jan. 31, 1930, in South Bend, to Bernard James and Josephine (Xavier) McCaffery, who preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by a daughter, Barbara Deskovich on Nov. 21, 1997. On Aug. 21, 1954, in South Bend, she married Lawrence Anthony Deskovich, who died on Oct. 10, 1993.

She is survived by two daughters, Jane Deskovich of Southgate, Mich., and Nancy (Tony) Morris of Raymond, Wash.; a son, James A. (Nikki) Deskovich of Granger, Ind.; five grandchildren and a great-granddaughter; and by a brother, James McCaffery of Mishawaka, Ind.

Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10 a.m. Monday in St. Stanislaus Catholic Church, 415 N. Brookfield, South Bend. Interment will follow at Highland Cemetery. Friends may call from 2 to 6 today in the HICKEY funeral Home, 17131 Cleveland Road, 289-1000, where a Rosary will be said at 4 p.m.

Jean was a member of St. Stanislaus Parish where she served as a home-bound Eucharistic minister.
