Donald E. Baum, 67, of County Road 6, Elkhart, Ind., passed away at 4:30 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 21, in his residence.
Donald was born on July 23, 1936, in South Bend, Ind., to Charles and Virginia (Nichols) Baum, who both preceded him in death.
Donald retired from Frito Lay in 1991. He served in the U.S. Army, being honorably discharged in 1958. He was a member of American Legion #308, Osceola, Ind., Elkhart Moose #599 and Club 15 in Mishawaka, Ind.
Donald is survived by a daughter, Angie (Ty) Robbins of Mishawaka; a grandchild, Joshua Donald Robbins of Mishawaka; his loving companion, Barbara J. Sipe of Elkhart; a brother, Charles "Terry" Baum of Mishawaka; and by a sister, Judy Moore of Orange Park, Fla.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 26, in the Bubb Funeral Chapel, 3910 N. Main St., Mishawaka. Pastor Bud Walterhouse will officiate the services. Family and friends may call one hour prior to the memorial service.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Center for Hospice and Palliative Care, Inc., 111 Sunnybrook Court, South Bend, IN 46637.
