William Byron Fenimore

William B. Fenimore, Jr., 81, of South Bend passed away peacefully surrounded by family on August 4, 2018.

Born February 27, 1937, he was the son of the late William B. Sr. and Florence (Williams) Fenimore.

On June 24, 1961, Bill married the love of his life, Haroldyne (Alexander). She precedes him in death. He was also preceded in death by his sister, Grace (Fenimore) Nygres; and his brother James Fenimore. He is survived by his sister, Patricia (Fenimore) Cressy.

Left to cherish his memory are two children, William T. (Michael) Fenimore of Osceola and Jeffrey A. (Kristi) Fenimore of Elkhart, IN; his grandchildren, Nicole (Benjamin) Sharkey, Jeffrey M. Fenimore, Tiffany Fenimore, Brandi (Cameron) Polinski, and Breanna Fenimore; and great-grandchildren, Kassandra Smith, Sophia Fenimore, Raelin Fenimore, Lillian Sharkey, and River Polinski.

William proudly served in the Army, stationed in Korea from 1957-1960. In his younger days he enjoyed playing sports, his favorite being swimming and diving. He attended Camp Ray Bird as a child, and was passionate about sponsoring two children to attend themselves, before he was taken by illness. William loved spending time with his grandchildren, especially taking them to breakfast at Old Country Buffet. William enjoyed spending afternoons at the local Post and Democratic Club.

No services are being held. He will be interred at Sumption Prairie Cemetery.
