Adams 1971 Kerry Burch

Aug. 10, 1953 - Nov. 02, 2016

SOUTH BEND - Kerry Lynn Burch, 63, of South Bend Indiana, passed away unexpectedly on November 2, 2016 in his home in Glendale, AZ. He fought long and hard with his battle against cancer. In April, 2010, Kerry was told he would likely succumb to lung cancer sometime over the next few months to one year. However, our good Lord blessed him and all of us with six more wonderful years.

In his younger years, Kerry was a Journeyman carpenter, until he was forced to retire due to illness. He shared all of his talents with his loving son, Chad, who is carrying on the traditions of his father.

Kerry enjoyed Nascar, watching westerns on TV and going to the casino. He loved spending time with family and friends. He touched so many lives and was truly loved by many. Kerry will always be remembered for those beautiful blue eyes, his contagious smile, his sense of humor and his incredible and inspiring strength.

Kerry's daughter, Amy, shares the following:

How does one write an obituary about their father and say all they know to be true?

To come up with the right words that express his kindness, love and strength is more than I can do.

Kerry may be gone, for with him we can no longer be,

But what he left behind is meant for you and me.

When faced with adversity and the reality of death at your side,

embrace it, smile, look it straight in the face and take it for one hell of a ride.

That is what my daddy did, he carried his cross meant for thee,

Without complaint he bared its weight and that, my friend, is his legacy.

Kerry is survived by his mother, Joyce R. (Braner) Burch; his son, Chad (Maria) Burch and their children, Savannah, Izabella and Emellia; his daughter, Amy (Jeremy) Ditsch and their children, Kayli, Kingston, Livya, Bradig and Cayden; and his sister, Peggy (Rick) Marcum; as well as his ex-wife, Sharon (Burch) Smorin. He was preceded in death by his father, Roy Lamarr Burch; and his other sister, Deni Holsinger.

A celebration of Kerry's life will take place at a later date and details will be announced.

If anyone would like to make a donation or contribution in honor of Kerry Burch, just buy yourself a lottery ticket or have some fun at the casino!
