John C. Hall, 51, died at 1:33 a.m. Monday, Aug. 23, in the Saint Joseph Regional Medical Center, Mishawaka, Ind. John was born Oct. 29, 1952, in South Bend, Ind., to James and Mary (Savery) Hall.
On May 25, 1985, in Mishawaka, Ind., John married Sheila Muff, who survives. Also surviving are two daughters, Lauren "Lou" Hall at home, and Mellissa (Ryan) Johnson of Mishawaka; a son, John C. Hall Jr. of Muncie, Ind.; his mother, Mary Hall of South Bend; a grandson, Jared; a sister, Elizabeth (Everett) Moitoza of Portsmith, N.H.; and a brother, William Michael Hall of South Bend.
John was preceded in death by his father, James Hall, and his brother, James Hall Jr.
John had worked as a self-employed home maintenance and repairman. John was a gifted swimmer with the South Bend Marlins and later at John Adams High School where he graduated in 1971. In his college days he enjoyed rock climbing and skydiving. He also participated in many triathlons and had a lifelong passion for the game of golf. John had a wonderful, fun-loving sense of humor, and he believed in living life to the fullest. He was a loving husband, father, son and brother who put his family above all else. He will be in our memories and hearts forever.
Visitation for John will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. today, Aug. 25, in the Welsheimer Family Funeral Home North, 17033 Cleveland Road, South Bend. Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 26, in the funeral home. Cremation will follow at Michiana Crematory.
