Lowell R. Tully

Lowell R. Tully, Jr.

Aug. 9, 1941 – Oct. 6, 2007

Elkhart – Lowell R. Tully Jr., 66, died after an extended illness on Saturday, October 6, 2007, in Elkhart General Hospital.

Lowell was born on August 9, 1941, in South Bend, to the late Lowell and Lucille (Lightner) Tully, and had lived all of his life in this area.

He is survived and will be greatly missed by his wife and high school sweetheart, Josephine (Quattrin) of 42 years, and their son, Chad Tully of Elkhart.

He attended Nuner Elementary School,  graduated from John Adams High School and Acme School of Tool  and Die. Then he joined the United States Air Force and had two years of college through the University of Maryland. He was president and part-owner of  Inertia Friction Welding, Inc. and also a part-owner of  S.S.D. Control Technology, Inc.

Lowell was a passionate Notre Dame fan and had a keen interest in politics. Unfortunately, this interest was often the root of frustration for him. He was a member of American Legion Post 308, Osceola, and the Disabled American Veterans of Elkhart.

Private graveside services will be at Highland Cemetery, South Bend. There will be no visitation.

The family would like to express great gratitude and a very special thank you to Dr. Rudolph Navari and his nurses and staff for their extraordinary care and compassion.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 601 W. Edison Road, Mishawaka, IN 46545.

Online condolences may be sent to the family at www.chapelhillmemorial.com.
