“I wish to apologize and ask forgiveness from anyone that I have offended or harmed in my life, I did not forget you. To my friends, thanks for being my friend, it meant more than you will ever know.

Thank you, Lord, for all that you have done for me during this life on earth. you have always been there with me. For everyone else, don’t mourn-celebrate, for you are still alive and are of value to the world.”

George H. Winkelmann (1961)

To the family and friends of George I offer my sincerest grief at his passing.  He certainly was one of the really good guys at John Adams during our four years together.  I remember him well as a friend and good classmate.  I regret that we did not stay in touch over the years.  Distance can be a real tough nut to crack.  Please (and it sound like you will) remember him well.  Cry...yes, but laugh too.  Share all the memories you can muster.  We laughed a lot in high school...and had a lot of fun.  Especially carrying on at baskerball and football games.  What a hoot.  I pray for God's richest blessings and peace for you.  I know it hurts.  But, as George himself said, 'celebrate' his life and legacy.  I am with you in spirit!  Another much loved Eagle as flown into the skies!!

...with love and affection, WINK

Best wishes to George in the hereafter and to his remaining family members in the here-and-now. George was indeed a "fun" classmate all those many years ago.
