Obituary of Meyer "Mickey" Elling

Meyer Elling, age 72, last lived in Las Vegas NV, passed away in his sleep on Sunday May 27, 2018. He was born in South Bend IN on August 1945, to the late Michel and Sarah Elling. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his sister Devorah. He is survived by his other sisters Aviva Cohen and Memel Elling and his wife Carolyn Elling and his son and daughter Nathan and Yaffa Elling.

He lived in many places and worked in many fields, including Toronto, Mattawa, Chicago, Halifax, Atlanta, Vancouver, Ohio and Las Vegas and in fields as diverse as a buyer for Sears, a Professor for Vancouver Technical College and in construction for many years, first as a journeyman and later as an estimator. He loved to refurbish old houses long before HGTV was so fashionable. A funeral service will be held at Kraft Sussman Funeral Services 3975 S. Durango Dr., Las Vegas on Monday, May 28th at 3:00 pm. Interment will be at Bunkers Memory Garden Cemetery, 7251 W. Lone Mountain Rd., Las Vegas NV, 89129.

His family asks that in lieu of flowers donations be given to the charity of your choice. His favorite charities included Nature Conservancy and animal shelters as well as the American Friends of Magen David Adom, https://afmda.org/.
