Nancy Jo Kapson

LOS ANGELES, CA - Nancy Kapson passed peacefully on Saturday, July 15, at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center surrounded by family and friends after a long battle with Cancer. Nancy was born in South Bend, Indiana, the oldest of three children; she was preceded in death by her sister, Karen Kapson and her parents, Bette and Jordan Kapson. She is survived by her brother, Craig Kapson (Carol), daughter, Denise Kaplan and grandchildren, Betsy and Ben Kaplan, along with niece and nephew, Heather (Brian) and David (Heather) and their children.
She loved her family and her best friend, Renae Charalab, and will be lovingly missed by them and her extended family, as well as the many close friends she's made over the years. Her late dog, Fluffy, was always by her side.
Nancy attended The University of Arizona and later worked for Waterfield Mortgage and Associates as a mortgage broker. She lived in Chicago while taking care of her two beloved grandchildren, Betsy and Ben. She sought joy in being the Girl Scout leader. Nancy truly found happiness in Los Angeles. She established many great friends throughout her time there.
The family expresses their gratitude to the physicians and nurses of Cedars-Sinai Medical Center and Seasons Hospice. They request in lieu of flowers, that contributions be sent to Cedars-Sinai's Children's Cancer Services or a charity of choice.
The family is sitting shiva at the home of Heather (Brian) Lazarus in Los Angeles.
