JOSEPH FOSTER WALMSLEY

Joseph Walmsley, 87, passed away April 16, 2011. He was born in South Bend, Ind., Feb. 26, 1924, to Joseph A. Walmsley and Irene Lovett Walmsley.
He served in the U.S. Navy in World War II. He moved to Henderson in 1959 and was a store manager with Sherwin-Williams Paints until his retirement in 1989. He was an avid golfer and member of the Black Mountain Country Club for over 30 years.
He is survived by his wife, of 62 years, Joan, who did accounting work at Kerr-McGee Chemical Corporation; sons, Craig (Eleanor) who is stationed with the U.S. Army in Germany, and Douglas of Henderson; daughters, Lynn (Bob) of Las Vegas, and Barbara of Henderson; He also leaves four grandchildren, Rebecca, Kimberly, Matthew and Christopher.
A memorial service will be at 10 a.m. Monday, May 2, at St. Peter the Apostle Catholic Church, 204 S. Boulder Highway in Henderson. Burial will follow at Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 1900 Buchanan Blvd. in Henderson.
