Feb. 12, 1959 - Feb. 20, 2017

MISHAWAKA - Ethel “Edie” S. Niespodziany, 58, died Monday February 20, 2017 in her sleep.

Edie was a proud member of the Teamsters Union and worked at the South Bend Water Works. She did freelance photograph and band reviews for the South Bend Tribune in her earlier years. She loved photography and having a good time. She was a devout muscle car enthusiast and owned several old classic cars. Her first love was with her 1969 Corvette which she put in auto shows and meets. She was a standing member of the Corvette drivers club.

Edie's parents, Burton & Dorothy Jaffe proceeded her in death. Edie is survived by: her brother, Michael (Joan) Jaffe, of South Bend; nephews: David (Winter) Jaffe of Kansas City, Missouri and John ( Chelsea) Jaffe also of Kansas City. She is also survived by a cousin, Donald (Maria) Werthiemer, and extended family Ted (Debby) Niespodziany, Sara and Michael Niespodziany, all of South bend.

A Celebration of Edie's Life will be held at St. Patrick's County Park in the Brown Bldg. on Saturday, March 18th from Noon to 6pm.

In lieu of flowers Memorial Donations in Edie's memory may be made to The St. Joseph County Humane Society, 2506 Grape Rd., Mishawaka, IN 46545. Cremation will take place at McGann. Hay's American Cremation Societ. To send condolences to the family log on to www.McGannHay.com.
