SOUTH BEND H.L. ' Butch" Knightlinger. 62. of Juneau. Alaska, formerly of South Bend, died Dec. 3, in Chula Vista (Calif.) Hospital, after an illness. Mr Knightlinger was the former owner operator of Muskeg Charters, Juneau. He was born Aug. 24. 1931 . in South Bend.

In 1951, he married Loretta Young. She survives with two daughters, Sandra Lichtenberger and Debbie Stephens, both of Juneau; two sons, Thomas of Rocky Mountain. N.C., and Michael of Juneau; and seven grandchildren.

He was a graduate of Adams High School, a veteran of the Coast Guard, and member of Elks Lodge, Moose Lodge, Eagles Lodge, and the Coast Guard Chiefs Association.

Memorial services were held Dec. 9 in Elks Lodge, Juneau. Cremation has taken place. Balboa Crematory. San Diego, handled arrangements. Memorial contributions may be made to any charity
