Linda Darlene Slaughter (Luther) - Class Of 1967 VIEW PROFILE

With her daughters by her side, our mother, Linda Darlene Luther, 72, leapt into the arms of Jesus to be eternally loved, on March 18th, 2022, at 3:18 a.m.

She grew up for the most part in the South Bend area, raised by her loving mother, Lella Slaughter (deceased). During her childhood she attended both Central High School and John Adams High School. She became ill and spent the majority of her life in care facilities. Residents as well as medical staff became a second family to her and she no doubt loved them all. She was a favorite of many of the staff who cared for her.

Though her life was hard and by and large was robbed of her, her eternal life is secure and this isn’t the end of her story, death has not won, her real life has just begun.

She leaves behind to cherish her close to their hearts, her daughters, Lisa Greenlee and Julie (Brian) Cheney; sisters, Sandra (Rex) Northcutt, Gloria Jean Kingery, Glenda Jo Garver, and Helen (George) Quick; brothers, James Slaughter and Daniel Slaughter, grandchildren, Krista (Rob) Kucharski, Kayla Ernsperger, Sienna Greenlee, Tye Cheney, Brock (Sierra) Cheney, great grandchildren, Kyren Kucharshi, Jacob Ernsperger-Butler, Lucas Williams, Henry Williams, Sebastian Cheney, Christopher Schaff and Parker Cheney.

Memorial services will be held 11:00 AM on Saturday, March 26, 2022, at Palmer Funeral Home – River Park Chapel, 2528 Mishawaka Ave., South Bend.  Rev. Dr. Thomas Murphy will officiate. Friends may visit one hour prior to services.  Inurnment will take place at Southlawn Cemetery, South Bend, IN.
