PATRICIA (PERKINS) ADAMS

Patricia Adams Jan. 18, 1950 - Mar. 17, 2014 SOUTH BEND - Patricia Ann Adams was born on January 18, 1950 to the union of Dorothy C. "Peachie" (Blanton) and J. Jerome Perkins in South Bend, Indiana.

Patricia received her formal education in the South Bend Community School Corporation, attending Perley Elementary and John Adams High School. She attended Indiana University South Bend pursing a degree in elementary education.

Patricia accepted Christ as her savior at an early age. She was united in holy matrimony with Paul R. Adams on December 17, 1974 in South Bend, Indiana. She was a member of Greater St. John Missionary Baptist Church. Patricia was employed through the South Bend Community School Corporation in several elementary schools, including Harrison and McKinley Primary Centers. In her leisure time, she enjoyed crocheting, ceramics, sewing, painting and reading. She also enjoyed collecting angel figurines. Patricia Ann Adams departed this life on March 17, 2014.

She was preceded in death by her loving parents, J. Jerome Perkins and Dorothy C. Perkins and her beloved sister Jennifer J. "Penny" Shorter.

She leaves to cherish her memory: a paternal grandmother, Mary F. Perkins, Matthew J. (Chiquita) Adams; twin daughters, Jennifer (Elton Jr.) Lindsey and Jessica (Kenneth) Hoskins; and ten grandchildren: Jalen, Coryn, Alyson, Kendall, Jayden, Kristain, Jennifer, Aaliyah, Evan and JayMarie; a niece, LaShaunte Todd, a nephew, Matthew Shorter, and a brother-in-law, Kenneth Shorter; as well as a host of other aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

A Memorial Service will be held at 5:30 p.m., on Saturday, March 22, 2014 at Alford's Mortuary with a social gathering from 4:30 p.m., to 5:30 p.m. Arrangements have been entrusted with Alford's Mortuary. www.alfordsmortuaryinc.com.
