SOUTH BEND - Scott D. Kelsey, 39, passed away on May 25, 2011 peacefully in his sleep from complications of Multiple Sclerosis. Scott was born on April 10, 1972, in South Bend to David Kelsey and Janet (Pollins) Kelsey.

He is preceded in death by his baby boy, Wilson Jeffrey Kelsey, who passed away in 2006, also his grandmother, Elizabeth Pollins; father-in-law, Jeffrey Harman; and grandfather, Harry Kelsey.

On March 4, 1995, Scott married Hanna Harman, in St. Matthew Cathedral. Hanna survives along with sons, Fletcher and Maxwell Kelsey; father, David (Karen) Kelsey of Granger; mother, Janet Kelsey of South Bend; brother, Anthony (Tracey) Kelsey of South Bend; uncles, Terry Pollins of Pontiac, MI, Tim (Abagail) Kelsey of Crown Point, IN; his aunt Judith (Denver) Collins of Clarksville, TN; grandfather, Carl Pollins of Mishawaka; mother-in-law, Jane (Daniel) Harman Aaron of Lakeville; brother-in-law, Joshua Harman of South Bend; sister-in-law, Julianna Harman of Honolulu, HI; step grandmother, Betty Kelsey of Temple TX; as well as his daughter, Samantha Hohl of Osceola.

Scott is a graduate of John Adams High School class of 1990. He was a member of River Park Business Association, Michiana Bicycle Association, Northern Indiana Mountain Bike Association, and various Multiple Sclerosis groups. Scott was the owner of the Avenue Bicycle Station. He was also very active in Bike for Children's Heart Foundation - BIKE 4 CHF, the BMC (Bike Michiana Coalition) and peopleforbikes.org. Scott fixed bikes for The Homeless Center of South Bend and The Hope Rescue Mission. He helped build bicycle trails at Rum Village and designed the trails at Potato Creek along with NIMBA.

On Monday, May 30, 2011 at 2:00 pm, family and friends are invited to a Celebration of Life in Potawatomi Park at the Main Pavilion for a pot luck luncheon where a Scott Kelsey Memorial Ride will follow. ST. JOSEPH FUNERAL HOME, 1827 E. Ireland Rd. South Bend is assisting the family during this time. Memorial contributions may be made to Scott Kelsey Children Fund c/o First Source Bank.
