Alvin Maurice Blake

Feb. 16, 1957 - Nov. 27, 1999

 

Mr. Alvin Maurice Blake, 42, loving son, father and brother of Butternut Road, South Bend, Ind., passed away at 1:40 a.m. on Saturday, Nov. 27, 1999.

Alvin was born on Feb. 16, 1957, in South Bend, to the union of Franklin M. and Mary L. (Wright) BlakeAlvin, a lifelong resident of South Bend, was a 1974 graduate of John Adams High School and completed three years of study at Indiana University. He was a member of the Eternal Church and Kingdom of Freedom.

He leaves to cherish his memory a stepdaughter, Danielle Dance of Spokane, Wash.; his mother, Mary L. Blake of South Bend; a sister, Bonita Kay Blake of Seattle, Wash.; two brothers, Larry Franklin Blake of Sacramento, Calif., and Anthony Wallace Blake of South Bend; a foster brother, Richard Cole, also of South Bend; three nieces, Katrina Miller of Elkhart, Ind., Jessica Blake and Ashley Blake, both of Mishawaka, Ind.; two aunts, Sernater and her husband, Curtis Bentley of Chicago, Ill., and Loudell Yates of Memphis, Tenn.; his former wife, Debbie Dance of Spokane; and a host of many other relatives and friends.

Alvin was preceded in death by his father, Franklin Blake in 1986.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, Dec. 3, in Alford's Mortuary, 1122 W. Napier Street, South Bend. Visitation will occur one hour prior to services.

Alford's Mortuary is handling arrangements.
