Donald E. Brown Feb. 16, 1925 - May 14, 2014 MISHAWAKA - Donald E. Brown, 89, passed away on Wednesday, May 14, in Sprenger Health and Rehabilitation Center. Don was born on February 16, 1925, in Mishawaka, to Lester and Maggie (Heminger) Brown. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Arthur and Robert Brown, and a daughter, Dawn Chrisovergis.
On October 10, 1952, he married Mary Gorslene, his wife of 51 years; she preceded him in death. Surviving are a son, Donald S. (Linda) Brown of Mishawaka; grandchildren, Christopher (Erin) Brown of Lafayette, IN, and Scott Brown of Mishawaka; great-grandchild, Maelie Brown; a brother, Harold Brown of Mishawaka; Don's friend and companion, Nancy Bagarus of South Bend; her children, Deborah Simko and Jeff Walters, both of Buchanan, MI, and Douglas (Tami) Bagarus of Mishawaka.
Don studied industrial management at Ohio State University, and later proudly served as a police officer with the Columbus, Ohio, police department. Don was a supervisor at Bendix-Aero Space Division for 25 years, and served in a similar capacity for Oliver Farm Equipment for 15 years.
He was a veteran of the United States Navy, and was honorably discharged in January of 1946. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge 595.
Funeral service will be on Saturday, May 17, at 3:00 p.m., with visitation from 12 to 3 p.m., at Hahn Funeral Home, 505 W. 8th Street, Mishawaka. Private burial will be at Fairview Cemetery, Mishawaka. To leave the family an online condolence, please visit our website at www.hahnfuneralhomes.com.
