ELKHART (WNDU) --- Hollywood is coming to Elkhart. On Friday, the film Crowning Jules will premiere at the Lerner Theatre in Elkhart. Co-director Lucas Miles said it was logical to hold the debut locally.

"We’re not a giant studio," said Miles, owner of Miles Media Films. "We’re an independent production company at Miles Media, so we look to partner with local communities and then bring a piece of Hollywood to that as well."

Filming wrapped in 2015. Miles said the crew shot portions of it in over 37 locations across Michiana, including John Adams High School. Actress and Crowning Jules producer Lisa Varga is a 1989 graduate.

"It was neat to be able to bring that back to the school where I went to high school because I took drama class. In a way, that’s really where I started my career, so it was kind of cool to bring it back home," said Varga.

She and Miles have small roles in the film, which stars Kevin Farley, Kristy Swanson, and twins Jacqueline and Elizabeth Labadie
