Jerry Arthur Lupton

SOUTH BEND – Jerry A. Lupton, 55, of Madison Heights, Mich., formerly of South Bend, died Saturday in Oakland General Hospital, Madison Heights, after an illness.
Mr. Lupton was employed by General Motors as an environmental engineer. He was born May 25, 1937, in South Bend.
He is survived by a sister, Patricia Ann Rager of Evansville, Ind.; two stepsisters, Marilyn Flynn of South Bend and Margaret Currie of Indianapolis; his stepmother, Jerrie Lupton of Indianapolis; and a companion, Doyle McNelly of Madison Heights.
He was a graduate of Purdue University, a former member of the Purdue All-American Band, and a member of Purdue Alumni Association and Society of Automotive Engineers.
Services will be at noon Wednesday in A.J. Desmond & Sons Funeral Home, Troy, Mich. Burial will be at 1 p.m. Thursday in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, Osceola.
