Dr. Janet L. Levatin

October 24, 1953  -  June 9, 2025

Dr. Janet L. Levatin, a beloved mother, sister, and distinguished holistic pediatrician, passed away on June 9, 2025 in North Royalton, Ohio at the age of 71.

Born in South Bend, Indiana, Dr. Janet graduated from University of Rochester before earning her medical degree from George Washington University. She completed her pediatric residency at the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey in 1986. Deeply committed to holistic healing, she received much of her homeopathic training through Luminos Homeopathic Courses, Ltd., one of the world's premier homeopathy training programs.

From 1986 to 2011, she ran her own holistic medical practice in Boston, MA. In 2011 she joined the Tenpenny Integrative Medical Center in Middleburg Heights, Ohio, where she served for over a decade before continuing her work at Hyper Health Wellness Center.

For over 40 years, Dr. Janet dedicated her life to providing compassionate care for those in need, and courageously advocated for fully informed consent and freedom of choice in all medical decisions. Her gift for holistic healing touched and transformed the lives of countless families. In addition, she made multiple trips to Haiti and Tanzania, providing homeopathic treatments to local communities who quickly came to love her. In 2015, Dr. Janet became a founding member of the Ohio Advocates for Medical Freedom (OAMF), generously dedicating her time and resources, working towards passing medical freedom legislation.

Outside of work, she adored her two precious cats, Bobbin and Burdock. She also found joy in outdoor activities, traveling to new places, and creative projects like knitting, weaving and quilting-crafting beautiful gifts for friends and family. Her greatest joy was spending quality time with her son Rafael.

Dr. Janet was preceded in death by her parents, Bernard Levatin and Suzanne Levatin (née Stiefler); and sister Lauren Levatin. She is survived by her cherished son, Rafael Moses, and sister, Gail McLauchlan.

On June 9, we lost our beloved Dr. Janet, but her light shines on through the lasting love and kindness she showed to so many. She will be deeply missed.
