Steven Robert Horvath
April 4, 1949 ~ August 23, 2025 76 Years Old
Steven R. Horvath, a cherished husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend, passed away on Saturday, August 23, 2025, at the age of 76, in North Liberty, IN. Born on April 4, 1949, in South Bend, IN, Steve was known for his steadfast reliability, his gentle spirit, and his great sense of humor.
Throughout his life, Steve was a portrait of dedication, not only to his family but to his community as well. He was the beloved husband of Barbara (Goldhawk) Horvath, whom he married in Williams, AZ, on September 30, 1983. Together they built a life filled with love, laughter, and adventure. The legacy of his kind and nurturing soul lives on through his sons, Dillion (Katie) Horvath and Casey (Paige) Horvath, and his adored grandchildren, Parker, Wyatt, Maddie, and Jamie. His unwavering support and guidance shaped their lives profoundly.
Steve was the steadfast cornerstone of his family, a role reinforced by the strong bonds he shared with his siblings, Patti (John) Susil and Mike (Sandi) Horvath. Though his sister Sharon Peterson preceded him, the memories they created continue to bring comfort to all who knew them. Steve’s passion for his family was paralleled only by his commitment to his country and work.
Steve took great pride in his over 40-year career as a dedicated truck driver, where he was known for his exemplary work ethic and integrity. His service as a U.S. Army veteran further exemplified his deep sense of duty and honor. The discipline and patriotism he learned in the Army never left him, and they served as his guiding principles.
Away from work, Steve found tranquility in nature. His love for fishing, camping, and woodworking provided peaceful respite from his diligent work life and allowed him to channel his creativity.
At this time, per the family’s wishes, there will be no services. Palmer Funeral Home – North Liberty is assisting the family with final arrangements.
