Brian F. Matthews

Brian Francis Matthews, 48, of Washington, D.C., formerly of South Bend, died June 2 in Manassas, Virginia, in an autotruck accident. Brian was a Certified Public Accountant for the IRS International Division in Washington, D.C. He was born May 22, 1950. He was a John Adams High School graduate of 1968, and a graduate of Indiana University Business School, Bloomington.

Survivors include Brian's parents, Frank E. and Cecelia (Kapalczynski) Matthews of Mishawaka; two sisters, Rachel Matthews and Karen (Don) Grove, both of St. Louis Park, Minn.; and two nephews, Matthew and Austin Grove, both of St. Louis Park, Minn.; and one brother, Marc Matthews of Mishawaka, Ind.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 7:30 p.m. Friday in St. Pius X Catholic Church, Granger, Ind. The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. Friday in the church. Private graveside services will be held Saturday in St. Joseph Valley Memorial Park in Granger. Memorial contributions may be made to Hope Rescue Mission or to SAVE (Sergent Area Volunteer Emergency Services)
