GRANGER - Thomas F. Bays, 69, of Granger, IN., passed away at 7:54 a.m. Thursday, December 23, 2010 in St.. Joseph Regional Medical Center Mishawaka. Thomas was born on August 3, 1941 in South Bend, IN., to Harold C. and Madeline (Stafford) Bays.

On March 9, 1963 in South Bend, Thomas married Diana Gearhart. Diana survives along with three daughters, Carolyn (Douglas) Murphy of Granger, Lisa (Sean) Burns of Osceola, IN, Sheila Whitaker and her fiancé, Larry of Granger, twelve grandchildren, Holly, Derek, Cassie, Briana, Suisa, Zach, Ryan, Lauryn, Spencer, Dustin, Elizabeth, Lindsey, two sisters, Marge Neurburg and Sharon Jones. His parents, a sister, Barbara Snyder and two brothers, Henry Bays and John Bays, preceded Thomas.

Thomas was the owner of Bays Hardwood Floors. He was a avid Notre Dame fan. He was a big-hearted man who touched many lives. He was always quick with a joke to make you laugh.

Family and friends may call on Monday, December 27, from 3 until 7 p.m. at the Bubb Funeral Chapel, 3910 N. Main Street, Mishawaka, where funeral services will take place at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, December 28, 2010 with Pastor Thad Stout officiating the services with burial to follow at St. Joseph Valley Memorial Park in Granger.
