In Memory
Patrick Alan Tubbs
Patrick Alan Tubbs of South Bend, IN, passed away peacefully at home on Thursday, October 17, at the age of 83. Surrounded by love, he left us with heavy hearts but also with the comfort of knowing he is smiling proudly from above.
Born on July 28, 1941, Patrick was a man of faith and family. He was a devoted husband to Nancy M Szulczyk, whom he married on February 20, 1965, at Saint Adalberts Catholic Church. Together, they raised three sons: Travis, Tim, and Kenneth, who blessed them with six grandchildren: Patrick, Lucy, Madison, Tyler, Lauren, and Abby, as well as three great-grandchildren: Everly, Brooklyn, and Valarie.
Patrick's career spanned from the South Bend Tribune to Redi Froz and Roudys Inc., where he worked until his retirement in 2002. He was a man of many passions, including hunting, playing euchre, bingo and cheering for his favorite sports teams: the Bears, Cubs, and Notre Dame. His favorite sayings, "I love you more," "howdy doody," and "doody howdy," will forever echo in our hearts.
He was a hero to many, sacrificing everything for his family and leaving a legacy of love and dedication. Patrick was a brother, son, husband, dzia, mentor, hero, coach, grandpa, great grandpa, and dear friend to many. His honorable discharge from the Army reserves in 1969 is a testament to his commitment and service.
Patrick's visitation will be held on Thursday, October 24th, at Kaniewski Funeral Home on North Bendix from 4-8 PM, where a rosary will be prayed at 4 PM and a Memorial Reflection will be held at 7PM. A Mass will be held on Friday, October 25th, at Corpus Christi Church at 10 AM, followed by burial at Saint Joseph Cemetery. A reception will follow the burial at a location to be announced.
Patrick Tubbs will live in our hearts forever, and his legacy will continue to inspire us. We are blessed to carry on his memory and cherish the love he shared with us.
Rest in peace, Patrick. You will be deeply missed.
