RICHARD E. CONDON

Richard E. Condon, age 71, of Valparaiso, passed away Sunday, August 4, 2013 at home. He was born October 19, 1941 in South Bend, IN to John and Anne Condon.
Richard was Chief Operator at the Eldon Kuehl Pollution Control Facility in Valparaiso. He also served as Chief Operator of the waste water treatment plants in Portage and Chesterton. His professional associations include IWPCA where he served as president; IWEA, and WEF. Dick was a member of St. Teresa of Avila Catholic Student Center.
On December 29, 1962 in South Bend, he married Kathleen Kletka, who survives, along with six children: Kim (Jeff) Marrs of Park Forest, IL, David (Sonya) Condon of Lafayette, IN, Pamela (Rich) Nielsen of Tuxedo Park, NY, Charles (Cindy) Condon of Tampa, FL, Mark (Tony) Condon of Michigan City, IN, and Dick (Kris) Condon of Valparaiso; 18 grandchildren: Breanne, Alyshia, Nathan, Kayley, Libby, Kari, Shannon, Zach, Austin, Tony, Gabbie, Callie, Tyler, Chase, Parker, Jasmine, Jessica, and Michael; six great grandchildren: Andrew, Jaylen, Darian, Ayden, Chloe, and Evelyn; one sister, Mary Stanton; seven brothers: John, Jeff, Pat, Timmy, Terry, Billy, and Steve. He was preceded in death by his parents.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday, August 9, 2013 at 11:00 AM at St. Teresa of Avila Catholic Student Center, 1511 LaPorte Ave., Valparaiso, with the Rev. Kevin McCarthy officiating. Visitation will be at St. Teresa's on Thursday from 4:00-8:00 PM and on Friday morning one hour prior to the mass.
