MISHAWAKA - Sharon Lee Selis, 69, of Mishawaka, passed away surrounded by her family on Friday, October 8, 2010, in her residence.


Sharon was born on June 30, 1941, in South Bend, as the daughter of the late William and Edna Mae (Hupp) Hendricks.


On October 27, 1965, in St. Bavo's Catholic Church, Mishawaka, as Sharon Lee Hendricks, she married Jack Selis, who survives along with one daughter, Jennifer (Kevin) Van Paemel of Mishawaka, and one son, Matthew (Kimberly) Selis of Mishawaka. Five grandchildren, Jarrett, Hannah, Grace, Heidi Selis and Paige Van Paemel, all of Mishawaka. One brother, Craig Hendricks of Rapid City, SD.


Sharon graduated from Adams High School in South Bend and Holy Cross School of Nursing. Sharon was a registered nurse for St. Joseph Hospital, Mishawaka, working as an operating room nurse and an outpatient care nurse for 40 years before she retired in 2003. She was a member of AOR (American Operating Room Nurses Association) a former member of St. Bavo Catholic Church choir. She was a kind and giving person, that is what made her such a special mother, grandmother and nurse. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her.


The family would like to thank the doctors, Center for Hospice and Palliative care and caregivers who helped her and Jack through all of her illness.


Friends and family may call on Tuesday from 2:00 - 7:00 P.M. in the Hahn Funeral Home, 505 W. 8th Street, Mishawaka. Funeral service will take place at 7:00 P.M., with Rev. Jeremy Levan officiating.


Cremation will follow service and private burial will take place at Fairview Cemetery, Mishawaka.
