On December 10, 1966, in Niles, MI, Joyce married Neil Michael, who survives. In addition to her husband of 49 years, she is also survived by daughters, Lori (Gene O'Konski) Kish of South Bend and Erin Earl of Mishawaka; son, David Michael of South Bend; stepdaughter, Sharon (Kenny) Rogers of Goshen; seven grandchildren, Taylor “Sunshine” Kish, twins, Jordan and Brandon Earl, Ashley Michael, Alecia Michael and twins, Kaitlyn and Kassidy Michael; and one sister, Kathy Yates, also of South Bend. She was preceded in death by three sisters, Diane Lonstrom, Marilyn DeSimone and her twin sister, Janet Oler; as well as her only brother, Larry Moore.

Joyce graduated from John Adams High School and worked as a secretary for Child Neurology, Inc. as well as St. Joseph Regional Medical Center, from which she retired. She loved Notre Dame football, flowers, sunshine and blue skies, bowling, reading, her dog “Mimi,” and crossword puzzles. Joyce was known to have quite a witty sense of humor and will be remembered as a caring and giving person. She adored her children and grandchildren and will see everyone again, somewhere over the rainbow!

Funeral services for Joyce will be held at 5:00 pm Friday, September 16, 2016, in the Palmer Funeral Home - Hickey Chapel, 17131 Cleveland Road, South Bend. Rev. Greg Crump will officiate. Graveside services and burial will follow at Southlawn Cemetery, South Bend. Friends may visit with the family two hours prior to services on Friday in the funeral home.
