Dennis Robert Lamont
Dennis Robert Lamont, 83, passed away peacefully on Sunday, April 26 at home, following a brief illness. He was born on August 27, 1942, to Kenneth and Marguerite (Beckman) Lamont in South Bend, Indiana. He graduated in 1961 from John Adams High School, and married Victoria Mathews in 1962.
Growing up, Denny worked for the family business, Lamont Drugs, on Mishawaka Avenue, in River Park. This led to a career in pharmaceutical wholesale with South Bend Drug Co. and Michiana Merchandizing Systems as Sales Manager. He retired from Information Records & Associates to be Managing Partner for B & B Specialties LLC.
Throughout his life, he has enjoyed many interests and hobbies beginning with model trains, horseback riding, golf, snow-skiing and slot-cars. He loved cars and auto-racing, in addition to building and flying radio control airplanes. Denny belonged to the Sports Car Club of America, Tri-Valley R/C and South Bend R/C Clubs.
He is survived by his children Tamara Lamont Neeser of South Bend, and Colin (Sarah) Lamont of Fort Wayne; grandchildren, Timothy (Jessica), Ashley and Emily Neeser, Amanda (Christopher) Beal, Samantha, Cassandra, Gabriella and Sophia Lamont; great-grandsons Theodore Neeser and Taran, Cedric and Fox Beal. He is a beloved friend, father and grandfather, who will be deeply missed.
Preceding him in death are his wife of 54 years, Vicki; parents Ken and Peg; sister and brother-in-law, Connie and Earl Troeger Jr.; and infant brother Robert “Bobby” Lamont.
Friends may call at the Palmer Funeral Home - Hickey Chapel, 17131 Cleveland Road, South Bend from 4:00 pm. to 7:00 pm, Monday, May 18, and 10:00 am to 11:00 am Tuesday, May 19 prior to the 11 am. Funeral Service. Interment will follow at Saint Joseph Valley Memorial Park, Granger, Indiana.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to donor’s favorite charity.
