Passed away Saturday morning Nov 24, 1990 at Lakeview Community Hospital, Paw Paw. Mrs. Powless was born July 4, 1943, in South Bend, In., the daughter of Roger and Helen (Kobb) Phelps. She was a graduate of Ball State University with a B.A. Degree in Elementary Education and taught in the Marion, IN School System before moving to Paw Paw. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church Hand Bell Choir. On August 7, 1965 she was united in marriage to George Powless who survives. Also surviving are 2 sons, Jeffrey and Douglas Powless, and a daughter, Ellen Powless, all of Paw Paw, her parents Roger and Helen Phelps of Mishawaka, In, 3 brothers, Roger Phelps of Chesterton, IN, Richard Phelps of Pensacola, FL, David Phelps of Mishawaka, IN and 2 sisters, Sue Ballard of LIvonia, MI and Carol Silkorski of South Bend, IN, many nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM Tuesday in the Trinity Lutheran Church, Paw Paw. Interment in Wildey Cemetery, Paw Paw.
