David Richer - Class Of 1961
David P. Richer age 81, of Nancy, Kentucky passed from this life on Sunday, June 15, 2025 at Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital.
David was born on August 18, 1943 to the late Richard Thompson and Lorraine Miller in LaFayette, Indiana.
He was of the Christian faith. He loved the Lord and shared his love with everyone. He enjoyed building robots, trains, and radios. He was an avid train enthusiast and tinkerer. He was a humorous man and enjoyed making everyone laugh. He proudly served as a Nuclear Specialist in the United States Air Force.
David was preceded in death by his parents; daughter Stephanie Richer and infant sister, Debbie Thompson.
He leaves behind to cherish his memory, his wife of 26 years Karen Richer; son Justin Lee Cardente (Justine) of North Carolina; daughter Kara Ranine Story (Matthew) of Wyoming; grandchildren: Lillie, Keith, Theodore, Ignacio and Imelda.
Visitation will be held on Friday, June 20, 2025 from 12pm-1pm in the Chapel of the Southern Oaks Funeral Home with a funeral service to begin at 1pm with Bro. Matthew Story officiating. Burial will follow in Mill Springs National Cemetery.
Military Honors will be conducted by American Legion Honor Guard Post #38.
