Larry K. Barnes
July 20, 1938 – June 5, 2003
Larry Kent Barnes, 64, of State Road 23 in Granger, Ind., passed away at 8:03 a.m.on Thursday, June 5, at peace in his home with his daughters. He was born on July 20, 1938, in South Bend, Ind., to the late Jasper and Fidella (Bretnell) Barnes.
Larry retired in 1993 from the former Bendix Corporation as a computer operations manager.
On May 6, 1972, he married Christine Pajakowski, who preceded him in death on Aug.16, 1979.
He is survived by his daughters, Amy (Scott) Breiler of Chicago, Ill., and Cindy (Nate) Schoell of Atlanta, Ga.;his grandson, Campbell Breiler;sisters, Mary Lou (Vern) Kryder of South Bend and Betty Kryder of Granger;a brother, Eugene (Wilma) Barnes of Mishawaka, Ind.;and by a sister-in-law, Marion Barnes of South Bend.
Friends may call from 1 to 7 p.m. on Sunday, June 8, in the Kaniewski Funeral Home, 3545 N. Bendix Drive, South Bend.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday in the First Christian Church of South Bend, 1101 E. Jefferson, South Bend, where friends may call one hour prior to services.
Burial will follow at St. Joseph Valley Memorial Park, Granger. Mr.Barnes was a member of the First Christian Church of South Bend, and served in the Navy, working in the Pentagon.
Memorial contributions may be made to the First Christian Church of South Bend.
