Rose Marie (Wozniak) Foster

On March 7, 2026, Rose Marie Foster left this earth and finally rejoined the love of her life, husband Jerry Lee Foster. Beloved wife, mother, sister, aunt, grandmother, great grandmother, and friend, she embodied the definition of a "fierce person".

She possessed an intense and unyielding energy. She was unapologetically authentic. Her fierce love and loyalty to her family, friends and community was unrivaled.

She raised five children, eleven grandchildren, fourteen great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. They all shared a special connection with her. If you received one of her intense stares you had no choice but to yield to what was expected of you.

But as a beneficiary of her smile or the music of her laughter, you never forgot it. She loved feeding people at everyday meals, large family gatherings, tea parties and community events at STA and Rivi. She loved homemade food. Most of us will never forget the Tupperware of granola, jars of pickles, and the bin of fermenting yogurt on the counter.

She was proud of her Polish heritage and holiday meals included traditional fare like homemade pierogi and borscht. She was a passionate gardener with a special connection to nature. She was frequently seen in her own gardens on Hinesley, at Rivi, and at the art museum making things more beautiful.

Her spirit, beauty, and unwavering devotion to those she cared about will truly be missed.

Visitation will be on March 16 from 9:30 to 10:30am. Funeral Mass and luncheon to follow at St. Thomas Aquinas Church, 4600 N. Illinois Street, Indianapolis.
