Dennis Allen Grabner
Nov. 30, 1937 – Oct. 27, 2004
Dennis A. Grabner, 68 , residing on Roxebury Place, South Bend, Ind., passed away at 9:30 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 27, in his home.
He retired from Bosch Corporation, South Bend, in 1998 following 33 years of service. Denny was born on Nov. 30, 1937, in Mishawaka, Ind., to Peter and Sheila V. “Tillie” (Bartlett) Grabner, and was a lifelong resident.
On Dec. 23, 1988, in South Bend, he married Nita (Hollis) Gerndt, who survives. Along with his wife, Nita Grabner of South Bend, he is survived by one daughter Tracy (Pat) Hahn of Mishawaka; one son, Scott (Lynn) Grabner of Benton Harbor, Mich.; a stepson, Andrew (Shannon) Gerndt of South Bend; two step-granddaughters; and his mother, Tillie Grabner of Walkerton, Ind.
Denny was a graduate of John Adams High School. He worked for and was a member at Moose Lodge #58, South Bend and was a member of American Legion Post #50. Denny served eight years in the United States Air Force with the rank of staff sergeant, E5.
A memorial gathering will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 6, 2004 at the home of Dennis and Nita Grabner upon Denny’s wishes. Cremation will take place with burial of cremated remains at a later date.
