Libby R Jester (Larrison)

LIBBY LARRISON

July 4, 1939 - Nov. 8, 2013 SOUTH BEND - Libby R. (Jester) Larrison, 74, of South Bend, passed away Friday morning with her family by her side. She was born July 4, 1939, in Mishawaka, to the late Everett and Ruth (Burger) Jester. Also preceding her in death was a brother, Richard Jester.

On November 20, 1976, in South Bend, she married Richard "Dick" Larrison, who died January 25, 2012. Libby is survived by her daughter, Patty Godsey (Paul) of South Bend; sons, Les Prout of Indianapolis, Richard Larrison Jr. (Christy) of Keller, TX, Lynn Prout (Noke) of Osceola, Leif Prout of Gaylord, MI, and Larry Prout of South Bend; 10 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren; and her siblings, Betty Niklas (John) of Arcadia, CA, Shirley Nicoson (Dave) of Goshen, and David Jester (Barbara) of Goshen.

Libby retired from Curtis Products in the Human Resources Department. She was a graduate from Adams High School and loved to bake and grow her roses. She was a member of River Park United Methodist Church and the Clay Township Civic & Democratic Club. She loved her children and grandchildren. She was always excited about holidays, especially Christmas and the 4th of July, which of course was her birthday. Her beloved husband "Dick" would make sure she had a fabulous fireworks show every year.

Libby and Dick were known for their wonderful tailgates at the Notre Dame games in past years. People always knew where to find them with their Larrison Flag flying high. Libby was known for her homemade chili and pecan cups, and let us not forget her "special" hot chocolate. Recently you would find her watching Notre Dame in her new sweat outfit, including hat. Notre Dame games will not be the same without her. She will always be remembered for her huge heart and welcoming smile.

Special thanks to Angela and Bea Hernandez, for without them she would not have been able to fulfill her wish of living out her life at home. Thank you to her grandchildren, Mike & Tara (Waidner) Godsey, for all of their help, and to all mom's friends and family who came and spent precious time with her on her last days.

Last but not least, Michelle Thomas, you are a Godsend, and she loved you like her own. Thank you for making the time she had left filled with love and laughter. May Dad (Papa) and God keep you in their loving hands until we meet again.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, November 12, 2013, in the Welsheimer Family Funeral Home North, 17033 Cleveland Rd., and burial will follow at St. Joseph Valley Memorial Park. Friends may visit with the family on Monday from 3:00 to 7:00 p.m. in the funeral home. Memorial contributions in Libby's memory may be made to the Center for Hospice or the Arthritis Foundation. E-mail condolences may be made at www.welsheimer.com.
