Larry Lee McChesney

SOUTH BEND - Larry L. McChesney, 72, residing in South Bend, passed away quietly in his sleep early Tuesday, February 9, 2011, in his home. He was born October 3, 1938, at the family home in South Bend, a son of Orville Frank and Hazel Marie (Powell).
Mr. McChesney, and was a graduate of John Adams High School. On November 14, 1964, in Tyner, IN, he was united in marriage to Elsie M. Crum. He is survived by his loving wife of 46 years, Elsie, along with his son and daughter-in-law, Robert "Rob" and Leah McChesney of South Bend, and his only grandchild, the apple of his eye, Sebastian A. McChesney.
Also surviving is his sister, Barbara J. Miller of Alexandria, IN. Mr. McChesney retired in 1999 as a Systems Analyst at the Associates Investment Company where he had worked for more than 32 years. He was a wonderful husband, father, brother and grandfather, and provided for his family well. He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Jon David McChesney on October 26, 2001; his twin sister, Linda L. White; and his brother, Orville I. "Mac" McChesney.
The family wishes to express their sincere gratitude to the nurses at the Center for Hospice Care for all they did in making Larry's days more comfortable, and for assisting his family in his care.
Services will be at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, February 15, in the Palmer Funeral Home-Guisinger Chapel, 3718 South Michigan Street, South Bend. Rev. Greg D. Crump will officiate. Graveside services and burial will follow at Porter Rae Cemetery at Potato Creek State Park, North Liberty. The family will receive friends from 3:00 - 8:00 p.m. Monday in the funeral home.
