Dr. Arthur Wesley Rachels

June 8, 1939 - Feb. 15, 1997

Dr. Arthur Wesley Rachels, 57, a former resident of South Bend, Ind., passed away after an illness on Feb. 15, 1997, in his residence.

He was a graduate of John Adams High School, and also graduated from Meharry Medical College in June 1969. He practiced medicine in Los Angeles, Calif., for twenty-three years.

He married Theresa Green, who survives. Other survivors left to cherish his memory include a son, Wesley Adam of Los Angeles; his loving mother, Kathryn Rachels of Las Vegas, Nev.; two brothers, Alex and Armon of Las Vegas; a sister, Antoinette Johnson of Upland, Calif.; aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews, and many other relatives and friends.

Preceding him in death were his father, Arthur Rachels, and two brothers, Dr. Anthony Rachels and Dr. Andre Rachels.

Services were held on Thursday, Feb. 20, 1997, at Spaulding Mortuary. Burial was at Forest Lawn Cemetery in Los Angeles.
