MISHAWAKA - Thomas E. Teeter, 82, of Mishawaka, passed away Saturday, April 24, 2021, in Raclin Hospice House, Mishawaka.

Tom was born November 1, 1938 in Mishawaka, to the late Clifford and Delores (Ginther) Teeter. He was a 1956 graduate of John Adams High School in South Bend. He served in the US Army Reserves for ten years.

Following high school, Tom was a draftsman at Bendix. He then worked at Pickrells Greenhouse that later split off to be Michiana Wholesale Florist where he spent 49 years. He also was employed at McKinley Lumber and Hardware for many years.

Tom married Carolyn A. Goeller on October 5, 1963. Surviving is his wife of over 57 years, along with their seven children, Timothy (Mary Beth) Teeter, Ann Modlin, John (Becky) Teeter, Michael Teeter, Brian Teeter, Christopher Teeter and Amy (Robert) Wright; two sisters, Dorothy (John) Heller and Judy Snyder; two brothers, Richard and Michael Teeter; sister-in-law, Tootie Teeter; brother-in-law, Lew Ehresman; special family friends, Matthew Tarnow and Kimberly Weiss; 13 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.

Tom was a member of St. Monica Catholic Church. He was a Cub Scout Leader at Mary Phillips School and coached little league. Tom volunteered with the Mishawaka CAPS Program. He was a talented woodworker and made seven beautiful rocking horses, five queen size beds, twin beds, a grandfather clock, cutting boards, antique toy planes, cars and trucks, bookshelves and other items. He started his woodworking in the basement and when the family removed their in-ground swimming pool, they built a big barn as a place to craft his items.

Tom was preceded in death by a sister, Mary Ehresman; and two brothers, David and Larry Teeter.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 12 noon on Tuesday, May 4, in St. Monica Catholic Church 222 W. Mishawaka Ave., Mishawaka, with Rev. Jacob Meyer officiating. Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 10 am to 12 noon on Tuesday prior to Mass in church.

Tom's career was making people happy with flowers. In lieu of donations, please send flowers for the service or to someone you love in his name.
