Lucy L. Martinov, 80, residing in South Bend, passed away at home on March 7, 2020 surrounded by loved ones. She was born June 29, 1939 in Baltimore, MD, a daughter of the late Paul R. & Elizabeth L.(Beall) Wappenstein.


On February 26, 1960 in South Bend, she was united in marriage to Dr. William E. Martinov. Together, they enjoyed 50 years of marriage until his passing on July 19, 2010.

Lucy is survived by her six daughters, Pamela A. Martinov (John Traub) of Falls Church, VA; Jeri L. Martinov of Albuquerque, NM; Gail L. (Troy) Lobdell of Santa Barbara, CA; Ann M. Martinov of Santa Barbara, CA; Terese M. (Robert) Kowalski of Newtown, CT; and Lisa M. (Allan) Eicher of Leo, IN; one son, Dr. William E. (Kathleen) Martinov, Jr., of Northport, NY. She is also survived by twenty grandchildren, several great-grandchildren, a sister, Mary Alice (Milo) Burgess of Santa Maria, CA; dear friends Richard Threet, and David Crothers, both of South Bend, IN and Corky Prohaska of Sun City, AZ; and a sister-in-law, Jo Knoop of South Bend, IN. She was preceded in death by her brother, Paul R. Wappenstein, Jr.

Lucy retired in 2005 as a Wardrobe Supervisor in the entertainment industry. She attended St. Anthony de Padua Catholic Church in South Bend.

A private service will be held at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to South Bend Center for Hospice Care.
