Cindy (Mangus) Beckman, 55, passed away on October 20, 2003 in central
Georgia. A graduate of Indiana University-South Bend and Michigan State
University, she was a special education teacher for Laurens County Education.
She also worked with the Georgia Pines Program for special needs children.

Cindy (Mangus) Beckman, 55, passed away on Monday, Oct. 20, in the Medical Center of Central Georgia.

Cindy was born to Robert and Betty Mangus. Her father preceded her in death.

Cindy was a special education teacher for Laurens County Education, and actively worked with the Georgia Pines Program for special-needs children. She was a graduate from John Adams High School and IUSB, and received her master's degree from Michigan State University.

On May 30, 1981, she married Tom Beckman in South Bend, Ind. He survives in Warner Robins, Ga. She is also survived by her mother, Betty Mangus of South Bend; and daughters, Stacy Matchan of Alpharetta, Ga., Michelle Rowland of Milledgeville, Ga., and Tammy and Renee Beckman of Warner Robins; a granddaughter, Storm Rowland; and by two brothers, Alan (Marcy) Mangus of South Bend and Greg (Mary) Mangus of Freemont, Ind.

There will be a memorial Mass at 8 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 25, in St. Jude's, Johnson Road, South Bend. Graveside services will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday at Parkway Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be from 7 to 9 p.m. today in the McCullough Funeral Home, Warner Robins, Ga.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to the Special Olympics Penny Drive at SE Laurens Elementary, 1799 Highway 117, Wrentz, GA 31075.
