Tony passed away at 62 in a house fire on October 21, 2010 in New Carlisle, IN. He
experienced a stroke in his 30’s that left his left side paralyzed. One of his most
enjoyable activities was the CB radio. Tony attended all but one of the yearly class
reunions with a smile on his face, wearing his fishing hat and his camera around his

NEW CARLISLE - Robert Anthony "Tony" Neitzel, 62, of New Carlisle, IN, died tragically on Friday, October 22, 2010, in his home following a residential fire.

Tony was born May 18, 1948, in South Bend, to Beryl Maudine (Flake) and the late Robert Louis Neitzel, and was a lifetime area resident. He is survived by his mother, Beryl Maudine Johnson, and an uncle, Bernhard H. Neitzel, both of Mishawaka, IN, as well as many cousins. He was preceded in death by his father and a brother, Gregory Neitzel.

At one time he served as a COBAL programmer for the South Bend Community School Corporation. Tony was a graduate of John Adams High School and attended IUSB. He loved Jazz music and was a vocalist in a local ensemble. One of his major hobbies was operating his HAM Radio.

Memorial services will be held at 4:00 p.m. Friday, October 29th, in the Welsheimer Family Funeral Home, 521 N. William St., with Rev. Kenneth Mangelsdorf officiating. Burial will take place at a later date at Riverview Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of the donor's choice.
