Upon his honorable discharge from his service to the nation, he returned to the railroad. He retired as an engineer after over forty years of service. After completing her high school years, Cissy went to work at Toro/Wheelhorse and then on to St. Mary of the Assumption, Holy Cross Brothers and then University of Notre Dame. They met, fell in love, and on May 3, 1983, in South Bend they married. They shared forty-years together. Danny was an avid Alabama Crimson Tide fan, enjoyed playing pool and loved motorcycles. Cissy enjoyed watching her sons and later her grandson wrestle, a true wrestling mom. She collected teddy bears and back in the day “Beanie Babies”. She had a green thumb and liked gardening and visiting roadside floral stands.
