John A. Clark

Nov. 3, 1943 - Dec. 24, 2015

SOUTH BEND, IN - John was the kindest soul one could have the privilege of knowing. The pattern of always wanting to help was deeply ingrained in him. He helped many people along their paths in life, usually at a sacrifice to himself. He was born and raised in South Bend, Indiana. In 1962, he graduated from John Adams High School where he excelled in science, was President of the Student Council, and Class President. He graduated from Indiana University with a degree in Micro-Bacteriology. After serving in the army during the Vietnam War, John settled in Martinsville on five heavily-wooded acres overlooking a lovely lake. In this, he always felt that he had found his “piece of heaven”. Up until one week before he died, he was still charming his caregivers and the Hospice nurses so that each of them truly felt his deep appreciation. John was predeceased by his parents, Esther and Frank Clark; and his younger, brother, Jeff. He is survived by his sister, Shirley Moon (Wayne), and his nephew, Doug Clark (Jill and family). Although John died from Auto-immune Limbic Encephalitis, he wished for any donations made in his memory to be given to the Alzheimer's Association.
